IMPLEMENTATION OF EVENT EXTRACTION FROM TWITTER USING LDA

Abstract
It is a simple approach for extracting events from twitter (tweets).Examples of events are national conferences, competitive exams, jobs opening, meditation camps etc. Tweets are the up-to-date and comprehensive collection of information about the current topic. It identifies the specific events in unstructured or semi-structured tweets. It transforms unstructured information in a collection of tweets into a structured database or in the form of retrieval calendar entries that contains information about specific event, time and location. The main goal of this paper is to explore different approaches for extracting the events. This paper focuses on usefulness of accurately extracting Major events.
