ShikshaSetu : A Smart Digital Learning Platform for Rural School Students

Abstract
Education plays a crucial role in socio-economic development; however, a significant disparity still exists between urban and rural education systems in India. Rural areas, particularly regions like Nabha, face challenges such as limited access to qualified teachers, inadequate infrastructure, and lack of digital resources. This research paper presents ShikshaSetu, a web-based digital learning platform designed to bridge the educational gap for rural school students.
The proposed system provides accessible and affordable learning resources, including video lectures, study materials, quizzes, and progress tracking features, with support for low-bandwidth usage and multilingual content. The platform is developed using modern web technologies to ensure scalability, usability, and ease of access for students with limited technical exposure. The methodology involves requirement analysis based on rural educational needs, system design focused on user-friendly interfaces, and implementation using a full-stack development approach. The expected outcomes include improved learning accessibility, enhanced student engagement, and promotion of digital literacy among rural learners. This study highlights the potential of digital learning solutions in transforming rural education and emphasizes the importance of technology-driven approaches in reducing the urban-rural educational divide.
