Hyperlocal Marketplace: A Full-Stack Service Booking Platform for Local Professionals

Abstract

This paper presents a Hyperlocal Marketplace a full-stack Service Booking Platform that connects users with trusted local professionals including plumbers, electricians, beauticians, and housekeeping services. The platform integrates multiple machines learning inspired recommendation and trust-scoring techniques to enhance user experience and service quality. Built with React.js on the frontend and Node.js/Ex- press.js on the backend with MongoDB as the database, the platform supports dynamic service browsing, one-click booking, real-time status updates, secure payment integration, and separate admin and user dashboards with full CRUD functionality. Experiments and user testing demonstrate high usability scores and efficient service discovery. Feature importance analysis revealed that ratings, proximity, and domain-specific categorization were among the most significant factors influencing user decisions. The proposed framework demonstrates scalability and adaptability suitable for real-world deployment in smart city and local commerce ecosystems
