Status of E-Governance in India

Abstract
The role of IT (Information & communication
Technology) in providing services to public & government
sector are increasing day by day at rapid pace. Today, the role
of ICT reached to the government and it provides our
government a changed face with the providing of facility of all
information system electronically. It has given the major
initiatives for the changing of old government into one with its
changed face. i.e in electronic form. ICT transformed the
whole system of manual government into electronic
government. Government of India started using ICT has a
major initiator and established e-governance as a key word for
its changed face. E-governance becomes the buzzword for the
government of India. It can be called up by transparent
government for using this technology, Government started
many projects for its implementation in the country and today
it reaches the whole of the country and gained importance at
international level. E-governance covers projects at national
level, central level, state level & also at district level.
