Taxonomy of Scheduling in Grid Environment

Abstract
Grid computing is a high performance computing environment consisting of thousands of computers, sensors and other resources which are geographically distributed or globally located across multiple administrative domains and used to solve large scale computational demands. In the grid environment, users can access the resources transparently without knowing where they are physically located. To achieve the promising potentials of computational girds, job scheduling is an important issue to be considered. Scheduling is very complicated due to the unique characteristics of the grids. Scheduling using general techniques in grids could not yield better optimization result. Meta heuristic techniques are more result oriented in scheduling of computational grids. This paper focuses on the taxonomy of Grid scheduling.
